Module - Content platform

The Content platform makes it possible to publish articles on your website. The possibilities with this module are far more extensive then those of the news module (standard module). The content platform can be used in addition to or even instead of a physical magazine. Some of the extra possibilities are:

  • Pin articles to display at a more prominent position on the web page;
  • Author profiles with biography and all articles by the author;
  • Categories to easily search and find articles.

Create a new article

To create a new article, go to the page that contains the content platform in the Website application. Click on ‘New article’ in the toolbar.

  • Enter the title of the article;
  • Choose the language of the article;
  • Enter the categories of the article. Existing categories will appear as suggestions when you are typing;
  • Choose the author(s). You can choose one or multiple persons from the Organization application.
  • Use the text editor for the content of the article NB! Write the article itself in a text editing program such as Microsoft Word. The system will log you out automatically if you work in one screen for too long. Your work will not be saved if this happens.
  • Write a summary of the article. This will be displayed above the article on the website (often in larger or bold letters).

Click on ‘save’ to confirm.

Overview of articles and actions

After saving the article, it will be displayed in the overview of articles. This overview displays relevant information about each article. The following actions are possible:

  • Edit – Click on the title of the article.
  • Take offline – Click on . If the article is not published yet, you can publish with .
  • Add cover image – The cover image will be displayed on the website in the overview of articles and above the article itself. Click on to add a cover image.
  • Add slideshow – You can add multiple images to each article. To do this, either click on  in the overview of articles, or click on the title of the article and click on ‘Slideshows’ in the toolbar.

Pin articles

Articles can be pinned at a prominent position on the Content platform. To do this, go to the overview of articles in the Website application and click on ‘Open pin menu’ in the toolbar. You will now see a number of position on which you can pin articles. You can add one article to each position. Click on ‘save’ to confirm.

Author profiles

Each person that is added as author to an article has an author profile on the website. This profile always contains the name of the author and all articles written by the author. You can add extra information to author profiles.

Go to the overview of articles in the Website application and click on ‘Authors’ in the toolbar. You will see a list of all authors. Click on an author to edit their profile.

  • Title – This is the default name of the author. You can change this, for example if the author wishes to use a pseudonym.
  • URL name – If you changed the author name, you also need to change the name in the link to the author profile. You can do that in this field.
  • Biography – Enter the biography of the author in this field.
  • New photo – To add a photo to the author profile, click on ‘Browse’. You can now select and upload an image.

Click on ‘save’ to confirm.
