Media library module

The library module can be used to make multi-media, such as documents, files and video’s available on the website. The webpage containing the Media library displays a nicely formatted list with easy search options for users. Downloads can be secured and made only available for users that are logged in.

Webpage

Alle available media items on the webpage are displayed in chronological order. Each item includes a title, the author, a cover image and tags. In addition, the page contains a search bar, under which all used tags are displayed. Users can click on a tag to see all media items with that tag.

Admin

You can manage the Media library module in the application Website in the Genkgo administrative environment. Go to the webpage with the Media library module. There you will find an overview of all added media items. The overview displays the title, tags, beginning and end date of publication and whether the media item is secured.

Add a media item

To add a new media item to the Media library, go to the webpage with the library module in the admin and click on ‘Add’. Then fill in the following fields:

  • Title – The title of the media item
  • Author – The author of the media item (optional)
  • Cover – The cover photo of the media item. This image will be displayed in the overview of the library. Click on ‘choose cover’ to select an image from the Files application.
  • Publication – Enter the publication date in ‘Begin date’. An end date of publication is not required.
  • Tags – In this field, you can add tags to the media item. These tags will be displayd in the overview under the title of the item and can also be used as a search term. You can add multiple tags.
  • Secured – Select this option if the media item should only be available for logged in users. This is not necessary when the webpage with the library module is secured already.
  • Description – Enter the description of the media item here. You can also use this space to include a video in an iframe. When a user clicks on the media item, a page with the description will open.
  • File – Here you can add a file that can be downloaded by the user. Click on ‘Browse’ to select the file.

Edit a media item

To edit a media item, click on the title of the item in the overview. Make de changes and click on ‘save’.

Delete a media item

To delete a media item, click on  behind the item in the overview.

Change order

To change the order of the media items, use the arrows and to move the items up an down in the list.
