Create a web page

In the Website Application, go to the page under which you want to create a new page.

  1. In the toolbar, click on ‘Create subpage’. You will then be redirected to a screen where you can enter the properties of the page.
  2. Enter the title of the web page.
  3. Choose the type of page that you want to create. Available options are ‘Page with content’ and ‘Redirect page’. A page with content is a ‘normal’ web page to which you can add content. A redirect page is a page that redirects the user to another (external) web page.
  4. If you want the page to appear in the menu of the website, select ‘Menu’.
  5. If you want the page to be indexed in the sitemap, select ‘Sitemap’.
A sitemap is a place where all links in the website are stated. This sitemap is accessible for search engines. Secured pages will not appear in the sitemap, even if you indicated that they should appear in the sitemap.
  6. The description of a page is only accessible for search engines. You can enter a short description of what the page contains. It is especially important to enter a description if it is important that your website or web page is easy to find with search engines.
Tip: use words that you expect people to use when searching, and keep it short!
  7. If you do not want to publish the page immediately, deselect ‘Directly available’. If a page is not available, the title of the page appears in strike through in the Website tree.
  8. Indicate whether the page should be available from a certain date, until a certain date or within a certain period. If the begin date is empty, the page is immediately available. If the end date is empty, the page will be available indefinitely.
  9. Click on ‘create’ to confirm.

Redirect page

If you are creating a redirect page, you can immediately indicate to which page it should redirect. Behind ‘Redirect to’, you can choose from the following options:

  • First page in sub menu – If the page contains subpages, the user will be redirected to the first subpage.
  • Home page – The user will be redirected to the home page of the website.
  • Specific/external web address – Users will be redirected to another web address (URL). This can be a page on your own website, but also a page on another website.

If you choose to redirect to a specific or external web address, fill in the correct URL behind ‘Address (URL)’.

Click on ‘Save’ to create the page.
