Scanning

Tickets can be scanned upon entrance and departure. You can scan tickets with several different devices. Besides, you can also manually scan tickets. We recommend using the tested devices to scanning tickets of larger groups. When you want to scan one or a few tickets, manual scanning might be an easier option.

Scanning with devices

Click on ‘Start scanner’ in the toolbar. You will see a new screen. First select what you want to scan. If the program module is available in your system, here you can choose for ticket options as well as programs and scheduled activities. If you don’t have the program module, you can only scan ticket options. Behind ‘Type’, indicate whether you want to scan entrance or departure. Then select the ticket options, programs or scheduled activities you want to scan. Then click on ‘start scanning’.

Scanning with a mobile device
You will see a new screen with a QR code. This QR code is meant for scanning with mobile devices. Scan the code with the mobile device. The phone will open the browser in the scanning environment. You don’t need to log in. You can start scanning immediately.

Scanning with UBS scanners or webcam
If you want to use a USB QR code scanner or a webcam, don’t scan the QR code but click on the link ‘start scanning directly here’ on the top of the page. You will see a new screen. You can start scanning immediately.

Scanning single ticket options

Click on the button ‘Scan manually’. You will see a new screen. First select wat you want to scan. If the program module is available in your system, here you can choose for ticket options as well as programs and scheduled activities. If you don’t have the program module, you can only scan ticket options. Then select the ticket options, programs or scheduled activities you want to scan. Then click on ‘start’.

You will now see an overview of all participants of the chosen element. The table displays the name of the participants, whether the participant is present at the event and whether the participant has already left. To indicate that a participant has entered the event, click on ‘Absent’ in the column ‘Present’. This will now change into ‘Present’. If you want to undo the action, click on ‘Present’.

To indicate that a participant has left the event, click on ‘Has not left’ in the column ‘Left’. This will now change into ‘Left event’. To undo the action, clcik on ‘Left event’.

Which devices can I use to scan tickets?

Scanning tickets has been tested on several devices:

Scanning with an Android phone
It is possible to scan tickets in Chrome (most recent version) with an Android phone. The newer the device, the faster it can scan tickets. We recommend this option if your event is small or medium sized. If you are scanning in a dark environment, we recommend using a source of light, e.g. a flashlight.

Scanning with an iOS phone
It is possible to scan tickets in Safari with an iPhone or iPad that has iOS version 11 or later. If you are scanning in a dark environment, we recommend using a source of light, e.g. a flashlight.

Scanning with a USB QR code scanner
The fastest way to scan tickets is to use a bar code scanner with USB connection. Renting these devices is usually cheap. Connect the scanner to a laptop and use a web browser while scanning. We highly recommend this option if your event has many attendees.

Scanning with a webcam
Another option is to scan tickets with a webcam. You can use a built-in webcam, but also an external webcam. An external webcam will work slightly faster than a built-in webcam. The speed of scanning is comparable to the speed of scanning with a phone.
