Working with external contacts

Scenario

You are organizing an event for which tickets are not only available to members and other relations registered in the Organization Application, but also to external contacts: persons who are not registered in the Organization Application. You want to allow external contacts to reserve tickets for themselves on the website.

How does it work?

In the Genkgo system, it is never possible for users who are not logged in to reserve a ticket for an event. The Organisation Application is the heart of the Genkgo system. If a person does not have a profile in the Organization Application, the Events Application cannot register the identity of the person who reserved a ticket. Organization profiles are linked to the participants of an event. Because of this, you can create dynamic groups of participants an communicate with participants using the Events Application as well as the Communication Application.

For this reason, several applications are involved when making the settings for tickets for external contacts:

  1. First and foremost, the location in the Organization where the external contracts will be registered must be determined.
  2. After this, external contacts must be able to register and be placed in the Organization. To do this, a registration form on the website should be used.
  3. Then you can make sure that newly registered persons can login. You can also choose to skip this step. In that case, after filling out the registration form, the external contacts are logged in once to reserve a ticket. Because they do not receive a password, they cannot login anymore after this.
  4. After making all these settings, you can configure the event in such a way that tickets are available to the external contacts.
