Add timeslots

A timeslot is a part of a program. Only this can be added to a program directly. Components can never be added to a program directly, but always have to be included in a timeslot. Read more about dividing timeslots into activities.

There are several types of timeslots:

  • Break – A break in the program to which no activities can be added, e.g. a lunch.
  • Participant chooses an activity before start of event (FULL-FULL) – A timeslot that is divided into activities. For this element, participants have to register for the activity they want to attend via their profile on the website before the start of the event. Participants can register for one activity within this timeslot.
  • Participant chooses multiple activities before start of event (FULL-FULL) – A timeslot that is divided into activities. For this element, participants have to register for the activities they want to attend via their profile on the website before the start of the event. Participants can register for multiple activities withing this timeslot. If the timeslot contains repeating activities, participants can only register once per repeating activities. It is not possible to register for multiple activities that take place at the same time.
  • Participant cannot choose or indicate preference – A timeslot that is divided into activities. For this element, participants cannot register or indicate their preference beforehand.
  • Participant indicates preference before start of event – A timeslot that is divided into activities. For this element, participants cannot make a choice as to which activity they will attend, but they can indicate their preferences.
  • Split-off: concurrent timeslots – A timeslot in which multiple simultaneous timeslots can be added. Other timeslots cannot overlap each other, but inside this type of timeslot, it is possible to create overlap.
  • General timeslot – A timeslot in which several plenary activities can take place successively.
  • Split-off: successive timeslots – This timeslot can only be added inside a split-off. This timeslot is of the same type as the program itself. In this element, several successive timeslots can be added.

To add a timeslot, go to ‘Schedule’ and click on the program to which you want to add the timeslot. Then click on ‘Add’ in the toolbar. You will then see a screen with several fields. ‘Parent timeslot’ is already filled in by default: this is the program to which you are adding the element.

  • Title – Enter the title of the timeslot, e.g. ‘Morning program’.
  • Begin date – Enter the date and time on which the timeslot starts.
  • End date - Enter the date and time on which the timeslot ends.
  • Type – Enter the type of timeslot. You can choose from the types that are described above.

Click on ‘save’ to confirm. The timeslot now appears in the schedule of the program.
