Financial year

In the element ‘Financial year’ the financial year in which you are currently working can be further configured. First, you can edit the name of the financial year in the field ‘Year’. You can also edit the begin date and end date of the financial year. In most cases, financial years are equal to calendar years. Therefore, the default dates here are January 1 until December 31.

It is possible to change the type of administration to another accounting form. The two options are ‘corporate accounting’ and ‘association accounting’. You can also activate the function ‘Accounting (beta)’. This is a beta functionality for which Genkgo does not provide support! Only use this functionality if you know you are doing. If you choose for the administration type ‘corporate accounting’, you will mostly notice the difference if the beta function ‘Accounting (beta)’ is activated as well.

You can also edit the notation of invoice numbers. This notation is built up using placeholders. By default, the following notation is used:

{{client-number}}.{{book-year}}.{{number}}

This notation consist of the relation number, followed by a period, followed by the financial year, followed by a period, followed by an ascending number.

Under ‘Tax liability’ you can select the field ‘VAT’ if the community is VAT liable.
