Environment Alerts and Push Notifications

In the ‘Environment Alerts’ element, you can create environment alerts that are displayed per environment on the Content screen in the app. Push messages can also be sent from these environment alerts. It is also possible to send push messages from items in the Highlight feed. See the article about the Highlight feed for more information about this.

Only logged-in users can receive push notifications.

Add environment alert

Click on the ‘Add’ button in the menu bar. A screen will appear with the following fields:

  • Environment – Select the environment where the environmental alert should be displayed.
  • Title – Give the environment alert a title.
  • Text – Add the text of the environment alert.
  • Visibility period – Indicate the period during which the environment alert should be visible in the relevant environment.

Click ‘Save’ to create the environmental alert.

Managing environment alerts

Environment alerts can be changed by clicking on the title of the relevant environment alert. An environment alert can be deleted by clicking on the delete icon.

An environment can have multiple environment alerts. It is also possible to change the order of these alerts. Click on the name of the environment next to the environment alert or go to the relevant environment under ‘content’ and click on the ‘alerts’ tab to see which environment alerts are present and click on ‘Change order’ to change the order of the environment alerts.

Send push notification

To send an environment alert as a push notification, click on the push notification icon to the left of the delete icon for the relevant environment alert. 

You will now be asked to send a notification for the alert. Click on ‘Save’. The push notification will now be sent to everyone who belongs to the selected environment, is logged in, and has indicated that they want to receive push notifications.
