How do I adjust data for a larger group at once?

In the Organization itself, it is not possible to adjust data for multiple object types at once. However, it is possible to do this using a spreadsheet program, such as MS Excel*, via the export and import functions. To adjust the value of fields for multiple objects at once, we advise to follow the steps below:

1. (If you are going to adjust one field) Create a dynamic group based on the field you are going to adjust.
2. Export the folder or group.
3. Open the export in a spreadsheet program.
4. Adjust the column of the relevant field to the correct value and save the file.
5. Make a back-up before you import the file again.
6. Import the file using the option ‘restore previous export’.

Good to know

It is important that you leave the field ‘ID’ untouched. This field should not be edited since the data in this field are necessary to save the rest of the data to the right objects during importation.

The same value for everyone?

If you want to adjust one field for multiple persons, and the new value is the same for every person, you don’t need to export and import all data. You can adjust the value by performing an advanced search query. Read more on how this works.
