The Program module

The Program module is an extension of the Events Application. Apart from the elements ‘Registrations’ and ‘Configuration’ in the Events tree, this module makes it possible to organize and publish the program of the event. When you use the Program module, members are not only able to purchase tickets, but also to indicate their preferences or sign up for certain activities. A personal program is generated for each participant, which they can download.

An event with a program is called a ‘conference’. The elements ‘Registrations’ and ‘configuration’ in the Events tree of a conference contain mostly the same options as in a ‘normal’ event. The element ‘Program’ is added to the tree.

Video tutorial

This video explains how to create a conference and configure the program. Specifically, this video explains how to use the Events Application to organize a career event with presentations, workshops and interviews. This video is also useful to watch if you are organizing another kind of conference.

The element ‘Program’ in the Events tree is displayed in the image below:

Components

The elements ‘Program’, ‘Speakers’, ‘Activities’ and ‘Rooms’ form the components of a program. Components are the different facets needed to substantively fill the program of the event.

  • A program is a defined part of the event, e.g. a day or part of a day.
  • Speakers are persons that contribute to the event by leading an activity. Speakers can be people who give presentations, but also people who lead a workshop or perform an act.
  • Activities are all sessions during the event, e.g. presentations or workshops. Sessions have a speaker and can take place in a specific room.
  • Rooms are the spaces in the location of the event where the activities take place, e.g. a seminar room or a large hall.

Schedule

In the element ‘Schedule’, all components can be combined into a clean schedule of the entire event. Schedules are created by program. In the different programs, you can add timeslots and divide those into other timeslots and activities.

With the Program module, the actions are devided in the following categories:
